# Edit a post

> Refine any generated Instagram post: rewrite the headline, caption, or hashtags, and replace the visual with your own image. Editing is always free.

Every generated post can be refined. Editing is **free**, no credits are charged.

## Open the editor

Click the **pencil icon** next to a generated post to open the edit modal. A live preview updates as you type, so you see exactly what the post will look like before saving.

## What you can change

* **Headline** (the on-image text)
* **Caption** (the post's body text)
* **Hashtags** (up to 30, matching Instagram's limit)
* **Background image** (upload your own JPG, PNG, or WebP up to 10 MB to replace the AI-generated visual)

## Save

Save your changes and the preview becomes the post. From there you can [schedule or publish it](/instagram/scheduling-and-publishing) or [send it to ClickUp](/instagram/send-to-clickup).

<Tip>
  Because editing is free, it is worth iterating a few times to get the wording
  right before you schedule.
