# Schedule & publish

> Publish an Instagram post now with one click, or schedule it for later on the calendar. Both are free and work even before Instagram is connected.

Every generated post has two actions next to **Edit**: **Post now** and **Schedule**. Both are available on Growth and VIP.

  **Post now** and **Schedule** are free actions and never use extra credits.
  Generating the post content is what costs credits. See [Credits and
  billing](/account/credits-and-billing) for the full breakdown.

## Post now

Click **Post now** to publish straight to your connected Instagram account in one click. This requires a [connected Instagram account](/connections/connect-instagram).

## Schedule for later

Click **Schedule**, pick a date and time, and the post is queued. It then appears on the social planner calendar with a "Scheduled" badge.

  If Instagram is not connected yet, scheduling still works. Your post is saved
  as a draft with a date attached, and a banner links you to the Connections
  tab. Once you connect, drafts can be promoted to live scheduled posts.

## The social planner calendar

The calendar above the form shows your scheduled content:

* Switch between **Day**, **Week**, and **Month** views.
* Click any day to draft a new post pre-scheduled for that date.
* Filter by platform. Instagram is live today, with Facebook and Google My Business coming next.

## Troubleshooting
